Job Description

Responsible for leading and delivering Danebank’s Swimming program for students from P to 12. This includes recreational, competitive and representative swimmers, delivering quality, engaging and educational training sessions and opportunities for which all students will develop, grow and benefit.

The Position - Head of Swimming Full Time

We’re looking for a suitably experienced Swimming Coach to join our Danebank Community as Head of Swimming.

The Head of Swimming is responsible for leading and delivering Danebank’s Swimming program for students from P to 12. This includes recreational, competitive and representative swimmers, delivering quality, engaging and educational training sessions and opportunities for which all students will develop, grow and benefit.

Key Competencies, Skills and Experience

  • Be a strong Christian role model, with a deep commitment to the Christian purpose and mission of the school
  • Capacity to work with a diverse range of school age students (P-12).
  • A Passion for swimming, and experience guiding and supporting girls, adolescents and young women in their growth and development.
  • Ability to work well within a team with advanced influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, students, parents and coaches.
  • Capacity to encourage talented student athletes to pursue their sporting interests to achieve excellence.
  • Attention to detail with well developed organisational skills.
  • Willingness to lean in and embrace challenges.
  • Flexible and open to change.
  • Proactive and innovative.
  • Warm, empathetic, with energy and good humour.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.

Essential

  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation - such as Teacher of Competitive Swimming / Competitive Strokes or Development Swimming Coach Accreditation

Desirable

  • Completion of General Principles of Coaching Course (or willingness to complete this course)
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to complete these courses)
  • Learn to Swim qualifications and willingness to teach if needed
  • Certificate III in Fitness or Strength and Conditioning qualification
