Pastor

Full time Church/ Ministers/ Pastors

Job Description

'Looking for a person who is gifted in preaching and teaching, and preferably in evangelism as well, and who can lead the congregation into its outreach to the community'........

The Chidlow Community Church is a small congregation meeting in the town of Chidlow, located just off of Great Eastern Highway, some twenty-five kilometres east of Midland, and forty-six kilometres east of central Perth in Western Australia.

The church averages between twenty-five and thirty persons per week.

We are a member church of the Baptist Churches of Western Australia, and our church constitution is in line with the model constitution presented by the Baptist Union.

The church, recognising its need to fulfill its primary task of church growth through evangelism within the community and the building up of the church through home groups, prayer meetings, Bible studies, etc., is seeking someone for at least four days per week, (full-time if possible), with a preference that this position will grow into full-time.

Stipend for this position is in line with the recommendations of the Baptist Churches of Western Australia, (currently for a full-time pastor between $80,000 and $98,000 per annum dependant upon one’s experience and accreditation status).

The requirements of this position are:

  • A person who has been born again, baptised by immersion as a believer, and who exhibits the reality of his conversion in his daily life.
  • A person who agrees to the church’s statement of faith (see below), as well as one who is willing to work within the structure of the Church’s constitution.
  • A person who is gifted in preaching and teaching, and preferably in evangelism as well, and who can lead the congregation into its outreach to the community.
  • A person who can encourage and facilitate the personal spiritual growth of the congregation through Bible studies, home groups, visitation, etc.
  • A person who is willing to move into the Chidlow community, so as to be a presence within the community, thus building bridges to the community. The church does not own a manse, and this would require the individual to rent (or buy, should they choose), within the Chidlow community.
  • A person who is Accredited/Ordained within their own denomination; or is working towards such accreditation/ordination; or is willing to work towards accreditation within the Baptist Churches of Western Australia.

  • The existence of One God in three persons - The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • The Deity and Incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
  • The Deity of the Holy Spirit and His work in the regeneration of human beings, and in their sanctification.
  • The personality and malignancy of the devil, the fallen, sinful, and lost estate of all humanity.
  • The Salvation of human beings from the penalty of sin through the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus, His perfect obedience, His shed blood, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His unchanging priesthood.
