Job Description

Play a key role in fostering community, spiritual growth, and discipleship through our online Life Groups. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting leaders and helping people connect and grow in their faith.

Role Overview

The Online Life Groups Leader will be responsible for recruiting, developing, and deploying Life Group Leaders for both existing and new Life Groups. This role will also involve updating and maintaining Care Life Group information, refining processes to track and place new members into Life Groups, and assisting in the formation of new groups. Additionally, this person will serve as a mentor to new leaders, helping them grow into their leadership roles. This role is integral to our vision of Building a Discipling Culture at Crossway.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead efforts to recruit new Life Group Leaders who are passionate about discipleship and fostering spiritual community.
    • Develop and train Life Group Leaders by providing guidance, resources, and mentorship to ensure they feel confident and equipped in their leadership roles.
    • Assist in the placement of new people into appropriate Life Groups, ensuring that individuals are connected with groups that align with their spiritual needs and growth.
    • Maintain and update Care Life Group information to ensure accurate tracking of group members, their needs, and participation.
    • Mentor new Life Group Leaders, helping them navigate their responsibilities and offering support as they grow into their leadership roles.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and resources to Life Group Leaders, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
    • Help form new Life Groups as needed, based on the needs of the congregation and available leaders, ensuring that new groups align with Crossway's mission and values.
    • Contribute to Building a Discipling Culture at Crossway by fostering strong relationships within the Life Group ministry and supporting the overall church mission to disciple and equip people in their faith journey.
    • Keep records up-to-date and track group dynamics, ensuring the smooth operation of the Life Group ministry.
    • Support the Life Groups Coordinator in coordinating events and resources for Life Group Leaders and participants.

Skills and Experience

  • Faith and Commitment: A deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a passion for discipleship, spiritual growth, and mentoring others.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience in leading or facilitating small groups or a similar leadership role, with a heart for developing new leaders.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with new and existing leaders, as well as Life Group members.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, track group information, and support leaders efficiently.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using online platforms such as Zoom and other digital tools to facilitate online meetings and coordination.
  • Mentorship Skills: A natural desire to mentor and guide others, providing spiritual and practical support to help leaders grow and succeed.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with other staff and volunteers to support the broader ministry goals at Crossway.
