  • Commencing Term 2, 2025, this is a full time position.

The Chaplain is an innovative leader with energy, initiative and vision. They have the responsibility to authentically integrate the Christian faith so that the community would see the beauty and wisdom of the School’s Faith Foundations, and the positive impact Jesus has in the lives of individuals and communities. The Chaplain is an outstanding pastoral leader, who actively initiates, ministers and upholds the School Mission and Vision, providing strong Christian leadership across the School.

The School Chaplain and Headmaster work collaboratively to ensure that the Christian faith is the heartbeat of the School, which informs and transforms the life and learning that takes place at Prep.

The Chaplain reports directly to the Headmaster and is an integral member of the Executive Leadership team, providing vision for the School’s Christian Ministry and spiritual life. The position will be at a senior level with salary commensurate with experience and the status accorded to the position.

Selection Criteria

The Chaplain, in collaboration with members of the Executive and as delegated by the Headmaster, shares responsibility for:

  • Christian Leadership - Advancing the Christian mission of the School and nurturing an authentic faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Educational Leadership - Providing exceptional teaching and collegiality in Christian Studies.
  • Pastoral/Wellbeing Leadership - Upholding the School as a caring Christian community where every student’s wellbeing matters. Be an advocate for wellbeing and be available for pastoral care and support to the community.
  • Community Leadership - Deepening the Faith Foundations of the school and strong sense of community.
  • Strategic Leadership - Championing the mission, vision and values of the School.
  • Administrative Leadership - Upholding the School’s high standards of policy and conduct.
  • Leadership of People - Leading through demonstration of Christian character, representing the School with Compassion, Courage, Respect, Integrity and Excellence.
  • A Bachelor of Theology or Master of Divinity.
  • An ordained minister in the Anglican Church is highly desirable.
  • Teaching qualifications and school experience are essential.
