Role Summary

The Business Operations Assistant provides critical support to the Business Operations Director across a variety of responsibilities within the church's business and operations ministry. These include Business (administration & finance); HR; IT; Governance & Compliance; Projects; infrastructure; and facilities. It also supports the team members during peak workload periods and staff absences. Duties include assisting in the day to day operations as well as annual requirements in all areas of operations. The aim is to achieve best practices to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.

This position requires a proactive team player capable of working independently on projects, meeting deadlines, and contributing meaningfully to the church's operational and ministry objectives.

Prerequisite Qualifications

Education

  • Relevant degree in business preferred.
  • Alternatively, specific training or courses related to the required skills will be considered or work history that supports acquired knowledge.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in related fields such as administration, event coordination, finance, or project management.
  • Preferred backgrounds include but are not exclusive to executive assistant (EA), high-level personal assistant (PA), or financial roles (e.g., payroll, accounts payable/receivable).
  • Experience managing staff and volunteer teams, and/or event organisation.
  • A knowledge of NFP or faith-based organisation operations would be beneficial.
  • Individuals returning to the workforce with previous mid-management experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.

  • Hands-On Approach: Demonstrates a proactive commitment to addressing practical tasks efficiently and effectively, ensuring timely execution."
