Job Description

We are looking for a teacher to teach Chinese VCE Units 3 & 4 class in the 2025 school year.........

The Melbourne Baptist Chinese School (MBCS) was established for more than 30 years with the mission to serve the Chinese community by providing high quality education in Chinese language & Culture. We teach the traditional characters in Cantonese & Mandarin. Teaching hours are on Saturdays during school terms from 9:00am to 12:30pm in East Kew, Victoria.

Applicants should possess the following:

  • A current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
  • A current Working with Children Check as employee
  • Familiarity with:
    - Chinese traditional & simplified characters
    - The Victorian VCE curriculum
    - VCE examinations and assessment system
    - Preparation of VCE teaching materials
  • Experience in:
    - Teaching, planning & responding to student learning needs
    - Using audio-visual teaching practice
    - Monitoring and assessing student learning
  • Has right to work in Australia (by Birth, Citizenship, Permanent Resident, or has VISA to work without restriction)
  • The successful applicant will be required to comply with the school’s Child Safety Policy and undergo mandatory child safety training. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. You will be expected to contribute proactively to a culture of child safety.
  • Salary is commensurate with relevant experience.
